Where we stand
The Track is a proposal for Ironwood, not its current operator. Selection, funding, agreements and approvals remain ahead.
Our direction is nonprofit stewardship and a community-supported improvement plan. The structure is being developed, and an opening date has not been announced.
The project depends on selection, operating agreements and required City approvals. We will share confirmed milestones as the plan moves forward.
First: the welcome and the course
Refresh clubhouse furniture, lighting, TVs, food, seating and atmosphere. Begin targeted course care and beautification, including bunker sand, turf health, planting and repairs that improve everyday play.
The Matchas truck and Payne’s Pinthouse form the hospitality direction. We plan to use existing spaces thoughtfully rather than depend on a large clubhouse rebuild.
The first major project: the range
Develop the Proposed Trackman range with containment netting, better balls and turf, and covered, comfortable practice. Final technology selection and supplier arrangements remain to be confirmed. Confirm scope and costs against the initial operating and improvement budget.
Next: The Dunk and the gathering space
Build the large putting green, with a putting course laid out on it, and connect the range and clubhouse through indoor/outdoor seating and gathering spaces. The putting course and the green are one place: The Dunk.
The Mosquito: make room for more golf
Develop the planned six/eight/ten-hole short course as design, funding, permits and shared-course safety allow. Planned lighting would extend play into the evening. The Nine Flip, Air Line and halfway-house experience connect The Mosquito to the larger course.
Keep making the golf better
Over time, we plan to redesign selected holes and improve the routing, making better use of the property’s natural terrain and space. Experienced course-design, shaping and agronomy partners will be part of how we intend to deliver that work, alongside our team’s Ironwood knowledge.
Better playing conditions, native planting, accessible facilities and the full-course par-3 overlay with dual pins remain part of the ambition. Site review, funding and approvals will shape the work as we keep improving the course.
We intend to keep golf available as improvements proceed. Work may temporarily affect a particular amenity, such as the range; we do not anticipate prolonged whole-course closures. Actual access arrangements will follow the work and be communicated in advance.
