Better public golf. More opportunity to learn. A place to gather, built around the people who call this city home.
A course worth caring for
Ironwood has welcomed generations of Gainesville golfers. We want to build on that history, recognize the City’s stewardship and bring new resources to a place that matters to regulars, families and first-time players alike.
Our ambition is a much better golf course and a more useful public place: thoughtful design, dependable conditions, great practice and a clubhouse you can enjoy without booking a tee time.
A public purpose, built to last
We are pursuing a nonprofit stewardship model because the opportunity reaches beyond a round of golf. Philanthropic support could help us improve the course, widen access and create learning opportunities at a scale that daily play alone would struggle to fund.
Our intended path is to work with an established fiscal sponsor for eligible charitable activities and develop an independent nonprofit as the structure is approved. No fiscal sponsor agreement is in place. Work & Family LLC d/b/a The Track remains the bidder today.
Ambition still needs a sound operation. Golf, practice, food and drink would support maintenance, people and long-term care. Larger fundraising possibilities are an aspiration, not money already secured.

The name carries Gainesville’s rail history, its track-and-field spirit, nearby horse country and the golfer’s affection for a good track. Our hog, Payne, nods to Hogtown and Paynes Prairie. The colors come from the landscape around us.
Elevated and for everyone is the point: local affordability, a welcoming first visit and details that make people proud to return.
Built in public, with the public, for the public
We will share what is planned, what changes and what still needs to be resolved. Current proposals and future ideas deserve clear labels, and support deserves a clear explanation of what it means.
