Why The Track

We're from here.

Ironwood is officially for sale, and its next chapter is being decided. We're the hometown team set on making its future better than its past, built around this community, with golf better than ever.

The Moment

Gainesville golf is at a crossroads

Ironwood is officially for sale from the City of Gainesville. The only municipal course in town is getting a new operator, and that choice will shape public golf here for a generation.

It wasn't always this thin. Growing up, Gainesville golf was rich: West End, Meadowbrook, Ironwood, Turkey Creek, the University of Florida's Mark Bostick, and the private Gainesville Country Club. One by one, West End and Meadowbrook shuttered. Today the city is down to two public courses.

This is a moment, not a threat. Ironwood's future should be better than its past, led by a team that puts the local community first and makes the golf better than ever. That's exactly what we intend to do.

Who We Are

Two brothers, one hometown

We're Trace and Tyler Rucarean, born and raised in Gainesville and lucky enough to be members at Gainesville Country Club in its heyday. Part of the reason we moved home and opened Future Country Club was what we saw happening to golf here.

Since opening, we've felt the difference. Kids are picking up the game. We welcomed every local high school team to play through the season. And we built something special inside two small indoor facilities. Now we want to take it outdoors, at a scale the whole community can get behind.

Trace Rucarean

Hometown, all in.

Grew up playing Ironwood every single day as part of the Buchholz High School golf team. A Gainesville business owner who never left the game behind.

Tyler Rucarean

He's built this before.

Played for the University of Florida golf team, then rebranded and built Chimera Golf Club into one of the most popular courses in the Las Vegas area as its CSO. He knows how to make a place special without pricing people out.

The Promise

Better than ever, still for everyone

Let's be clear about what The Track is not: it is not becoming a bougie private club. We're not putting up a gate.

What we will do is take a fantastic property, breathe new energy into it, and make Ironwood far better than it's ever been. Somewhere locals want to be every week and visitors are clamoring to play.

“We are from here. We live here. We are business owners here. Ironwood deserves a team that treats it like home, because to us, it is.”

Trace & Tyler Rucarean

It starts with the community.

Help us win the bid.
